Transformation Through Trial: Growing Closer to God During Lent

Greater Saint James Family,

"Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him." — James 1:12

Lent is a season of transformation when we willingly embrace trials to draw nearer to God. Just as Jesus endured the wilderness, we face challenges that test our faith and commitment. Yet, these trials are not meant to break us but to refine us. Each moment of struggle is an opportunity to strengthen our resilience, deepen our endurance, and grow our trust in God.

Today, we declare that we will not just believe in God—we will live in such a way that God can believe in us. Our actions, choices, and faithfulness will prove our devotion. We will walk with integrity, love with sincerity, and serve with humility, knowing that every step taken in faith brings us closer to the divine transformation God desires for us.

Morning Prayer

Heavenly Father,

As we walk through this season of Lent, we ask for the strength to endure and the wisdom to see transformation in our trials. Help us to embrace every challenge as a step closer to You. May our faith not waver but stand firm like a tree planted by the waters.

Lord, we lift up our leaders—those guiding our churches, communities, and institutions. Grant them clarity, endurance, and a heart that seeks You first. Strengthen them to lead with wisdom and integrity so that they may inspire others to walk in faithfulness.

Today, Lord, we commit ourselves fully to You. We believe in Your promises, and this season, we will live in a way that proves You can believe in us. Let our words, actions, and love reflect Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Morning Affirmation

I am resilient in Christ. I embrace trials as opportunities for growth. I endure with faith, knowing that God is refining me. Today, I will live with integrity, proving my unwavering commitment to God. I believe in God, and God can believe in me.

Go forth in faith, knowing God walks with you in every trial. Let today be a testimony of endurance and transformation.

In Service,

Rev. Walker
